PROSETEX IS AN ITALIAN COMPANY THAT PRODUCES FABRICS AND VELVETS FOR FURNITURE SINCE 1964, STARTING FROM THE CREATION UP TO THE FINISHED PRODUCT.

Speaking of company organization, we could imagine a scheme composed by warp and weft, because Prosetex is like a weaving of specific competences tied by an established plan, but this can easily change accordingly to different projects and objects.
We put together technique with creativity, stylistic research with innovation, capacity to experience with tradition.
The result? Jacquard velvets and plains, jacquard and dobby fabrics, requested and appreciated by the Italian and international market.
TRADITION AND INNOVATION
Established in 1964 as a small family-run handcrafted mill, today Prosetex is an industrial reality producing and exporting worldwide a wide range of quality products.
Prosetex produces and sells furnishing fabrics especially jacquard velvets, plain velvets, jacquard flat weaves and ratiere fabrics with experience and care close to a handcrafted process, supported by technologically advanced machinery and by a completely automated productive process.
1964 – 2014 OUR STORY: 50 YEARS, AND STILL THE DESIRE TO DO MORE.
Normally, at this point it’s time to reflect on our successes and recognize our fallings, but in today’s ever evolving world, we find our strengths from the highs of our history.
If we should ask ourselves: “who have we learnt from?” the list would be very long:
first, customers, who steer us to new challenges every day, and drive us to give always the best; from partners (collaborators),who make every design possible
literally! - but above all they are always there.
Then from the Proserpio family, who proceeds with the next generation passing the baton, not always easy to share. In any case, 2014 minus 1964 always makes fifty and we like to celebrate such an important event in our personal way, with a low profile.
So, in conclusion, the result is always the same: thank you to everybody who has crossed warp and weft to create a beautiful design, the one of our tomorrow.”

PROSETEX’S PROPOSAL IS PRODUCED USING BOTH NATURAL AND MAN-MADE FIBERS. OUR EXCLUSIVE VELVETS AND FABRICS ARE SUITABLE FOR THE FURNITURE, OUTDOOR AND CONTRACT WORLD.
IN SOME INSTANCES COLLABORATION WITH DESIGN HOUSES HAS RESULTED IN COLLECTIONS BEING DEVELOPED AND USED IN THE HAUT-COUTURE FASHION WORLD.
CREATIVITY PROCESS
Every season Prosetex is involved in creating new designs (floral, plains, dobby…) and colors: chromatic suggestions,textile invention, mix and match of styles and compositions.
The way of working has several important steps, starting from documentation and creation, accordingly to new trends and fashion of the moment, adapted with exclusive and original interpretations.
Then prototypes are realized, a crucial phase for the setup of the final fabric, meant to put together the different comments of the people involved.
Once the main lines have been fixed, we start preparing samples, precious tools that show the great experience of the company, and at the same time give important ideas in planning and final use in the different fields.
Apart from creating Prosetex own collections, the design studio is ready to respond to special or customized requests, for example with logo fabrics or with limited production.
Finally, a large warehouse is constantly updated to help with further stylistic and commercial requests.
INNOVATION FOR THE ENVIROMENT
In the recent past Prosetex have been working with Politecnico of Milan - Chemical, Materials and Chemical engineer department Giulio Natta – in order to create new fabrics and new combinations (for example by using special backings and nanomaterials), for innovation choices but also to sustain the production cycle, in order to avoid any treatments and materials that can be dangerous for man and the environment.
Some of these processes have already been patented and others are being constantly analyzed in research and development.
As a consolidated procedure, every year Prosetex uses 10% of the turnover in innovation and supports a graduate student with a scholarship.
CREATIVITY WITH INTENT
Prosetex believes that the word "creativity" has a specific meaning: it's a tool for creating service. A service at customer’s disposal, especially when specific support is required during product development and experimentation. Prosetex not only offers products, but also provides the capable assistance of its staff for the research and development of new ideas. Designs, colour variations, specific constructions and cost optimisation are the factors that result in personalised and dynamic collections. Besides the collections we present at special events and trade fairs twice a year, Prosetex maintains ongoing contact with its customers. With professionalism, efficiency and courtesy.
QUALITY STARTS FROM INSIDE
Starting from any internal procedure, Prosetex adopts systems to aide continuous improvement, these are also the essence of the company.
New ways of management allows for the mix of different functions, starting from the data base, passing through purchase orders for raw materials, yarn treatments up to production planning and handling of the finishing step.
In this way a unique system is able to get together the various activities, with special attention to production planning, a quick use of the interface user, easy consultation, to the possibility (from sales side) to work remotely.
Finally, another dedicated interface allows us to share files and documents, as well as the organization and consultation of the archive.
RESIDENTIAL VELVET
With their features of creativity and global quality, Prosetex fabrics (jacquard velvets, plain velvets, jacquard flats and ratiere fabrics) give value at every furnishing project of all furniture producers and all high end editors that wish to find the value of Made in Italy.
WALL COVERING
Many collections give the possibility to match furniture coverings (sofas, armchairs, curtains) with wall coverings, realized in a technically “lighter” version, on a non woven backing thus perfectly usable for the wall. From the aesthetic point of view, the sections are realized to get invisible intersections.
OUTDOOR
Outdoor produced by Prosetex is the result of our research, innovation and technological development. The furnishing market has re-discovered outdoor as a great opportunity of commercial development. Also for this reason Prosetex offers a dedicated collection, with specific caracteristics for lightfastness, saltiness and Chlorine resistency, with antibacterial compositions. Nevertheless these fabrics, 100% recyclable, do offer our usual creativity and performances.
CONTRACT
Those who work in the field of contract furnishing and furnishing supplies - textiles and not - know very well how fabrics and materials dedicated to these particular types must comply with precise rules of use and safety, from every point of view, to be included in projects in both classic and contemporary style.
HISTORICAL ARCHIVE
The Prosetex collections, season after season, know how to identify trends and define styles. Jacquard velvets and fabrics with different compositions are destined for those sectors which, to remain competitive on the international market, require the undisputed creativity and quality of Made in Italy.
